Here’s an interesting article on the “model minority” phenomenon for Asian kids. I’ve written pretty extensively about the “Asian Parent Syndrome” push to succeed Asian-American kids often get from their families, but I haven’t written as much about outside pressures, or assumptions that “they’re Asian, they don’t need help like other minorities”. Well worth the read.
